DrupalCamp FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Drupalcamp?

Drupal is a free open-source content management system (CMS) written in the PHP programming language. Drupalcamps are community sharing + training events for Drupal enthusiasts and newbies alike.

Where and when is Drupalcamp Atlanta this year?

Drupalcamp Atlanta will be an intensive one day event on Saturday, October 2nd at the Georgia Tech Research Institute.  Registration will be from 8-9am EST, the camp will start at 9am, and after-hours party will be from 6-9pm EST.

How much does Drupalcamp Atlanta cost?

The cost to attend is $25, and includes breakfast, a catered boxed lunch, and an afternoon snack. If you would like to support our local Drupal community further, you can become an Individual Sponsor for only $50. The sponsorship includes a badge, t-shirt, and shout-out on our sponsor page.  All proceeds will go to offset expenses, help to deter no-shows, and donations to the Atlanta Drupal User Group or Drupal Association.

How many are you expecting?

We have to cap attendance at 225 due to space limitations of the venue – last year’s event sold-out, so registering as soon as possible is highly encouraged.

When will the session submission process close?

The deadline for submitting a session will be Friday, September 10th at Midnight EST. However, we would highly encourage you to submit your session as soon as possible to allow more time for voting, commenting, and general interaction.  The organizers will then finalize the schedule, contact the speakers selected to present, and post the final schedule on the website.

If I am selected to present a session, what do I need to bring?

All audio/visual equipment will be provided by our location sponsor, the Georgia Tech Research Institute – just bring your slide-deck and laptop.

Will I receive any registration materials in the mail?

No, everything is handled online. Show up with an ID that matches your registration.

We’ll send you a few emails leading up to the conference, but that’s it. Then when you sign in at Drupalcamp Atlanta, all you need to do is provide your registration information.

Can I pay with a purchase order/check/cash?

We can only accept PayPal. PayPal does not require you to sign up with them before paying and accepts all major credit cards.

Is Drupalcamp Atlanta a good event for newbies?

Absolutely!  We have a special Beginner’s track for those who are just familiarizing themselves with Drupal.

Can I still become a sponsor of Drupalcamp Atlanta?

Yes! Check out the Sponsors page for full details.

What if I signed up, but now have a conflict?

Contact us and we will work something out – freeing up your seat may provide an opportunity for someone else.

What do I need to bring?

We recommend bringing a laptop and lots of business cards.  We will feed you well and dress comfortable.

What’s the deal with the after-hours party?

We are still working out the details, but the after-party will be immediately after Drupalcamp Atlanta from 6-9pm EST and an awesome time!  We will be sure to post all the details on the website.

How can I help?

We are glad you asked – we need a lot of volunteer assistance to help with shooting session videos, picture taking, registration, clean-up, etc. the day of the event.  Please contact us and we will get in touch with you.
