Like all of you, we have been closely monitoring the evolving Coronavirus situation and learning more every day about the extent of its impact and how it will inevitably and profoundly reshape the way we live, work, and socialize for the foreseeable future. We’re optimists at heart and hope that we will soon be able to enjoy physical gatherings with friends and colleagues to share our thoughts, concerns, goals, and dreams. Unfortunately, current uncertain conditions stand in the way of responsibly hosting such an event. For this reason, and thinking first about the health and well-being of everyone from attendees to speakers, to organizers and sponsors, we have decided to convert DrupalCamp Atlanta 2020 into a virtual event.
A few things to keep in mind about this difficult decision:
- Our number one priority is to do our part to support the health and well-being of you all by acting in accordance with local and state guidelines designed to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
- We are committed to supporting the professional interests of the Drupal community and aim to re-design DrupalCamp Atlanta such that it provides you the best possible experience under the circumstances. This means an agenda that will include great speakers, learning opportunities, and career guidance, as well as our hugely popular Career Fair.
- We believe that it’s important for us all to move forward with our business, our relationships, our goals and aspirations despite the hardship and obstacles that the virus has imposed on our lives. We will overcome! Holding the virtual version of DrupalCamp Atlanta is our way of doing this, and we hope you will join us.
- This means that registration costs for trainings and the camp will be reduced. This helps us cover the cost of our organizing expenses. Every dollar we receive in excess of these expenses will be donated to the Drupal Association, Georgia Nurses Association, and TechBridge.
While we would like nothing more than to be with you in person in September, we are excited to bring you a first-class virtual conference experience. We will be sharing more information as our revised agenda takes shape. Please feel free to contact us anytime with questions, concerns, or suggestions.
